Pensacola Shipyard Marina and Boatyard
The transport finished at Pensacola Shipyard Marina and Boatyard. They have a rich history since their opening over a hundred years ago in 1917. They quickly received a contract to build steel ships and vessels as the United States was entering into World War I allowing them to play a crucial role as a key manufacturer. After the war, they finished the constructions for their contracts and ceased operations until World War II when ships were again in high demand. During this time, they were also contracted to build liberty ships. While the shipyard no longer produces wartime vessels, they do meet the needs for industrial and recreational needs. They offer 52 wet slips with floating docks that can accommodate a variety of boats up to 70 feet long. Pensacola Marina is also considered to be a protected marina due to its surroundings. They are one mile from the mouth of the Bayou and have a 600 foot sea wall. They offer 24-hour access as well as having video surveillance and after-hours security to also help in protecting the boats. For service resources, they have a travel lift with a 220,000 pound capacity, a mobile crane, forklift boom and hydraulic jacks. They can be found at 700 Myrick St, Pensacola, FL 32505.
