Tartan Sailboat Transport
“Madeleine” is a Tartan 4400 sailboat transport from Barkers Island Marina in Superior, Wisconsin to Campbell’s Bachelor Point Yacht Company in Oxford, Maryland for the new owner. The Tartan sailboat transport preparations performed by Barker Island Marina prior to my arrival in Superior were flawless. They had the sails, rigging, spreaders, and canvas removed and stowed below while they had the boom padded and secured to the deck. Upon removal from the water they pressure washed the bottom to remove any invasive species and proceeded to load the boat onto my trailer. We then secured the mast and electronics tower on mast hangers to either side of the trailer, while the bimini bows, dingy, and outboard motor rode in the belly.

Superior, Wisconsin
Barkers Island Marina is a great location on the western tip of Lake Superior. Access by truck is a little tight but easily manageable with the largest of boats capable of being transported overland. Loading performed by the experienced staff at Barkers Island Marina went without a hitch. It is always a pleasure dealing with professionals as experienced and capable as these. As you can probably guess, I highly recommend this marina for everyone’s boat transport needs. They will not disappoint you.
Oxford, Maryland
Campbell’s Bachelor Point Yacht Company is surrounded by 14 peaceful acres, of which 12 are a wildlife sanctuary. This full service yard is extremely capable of providing services for both power and sailboat transport. Once in the marina I found that it was worth the extra effort of some tricky tight turns that took some careful navigation. The yard personnel are very knowledgeable and capable therefore I would recommend this yard to all.
Eric was great to work with. I had to change the date of transport and Eric worked with both yards and was able to fit me in his busy schedule to get the boat delivered. I would use him again and recommend him highly.
