Columbia Boat Transport

The Columbia 34 MKII Boat Transport from Bay Boat works in Northeast Maryland to Hylebos Marina in Tacoma Washington went as smooth as can be. As a test to Truck II I decided to take “the high road” as in the straightest route through the mountainous terrain of the Pacific Northwest. “Eve” as I have affectionately named her performed flawlessly and I couldn’t be more pleased. The experienced staff at Bay Boat Works in Northeast Maryland performed all the preparations and provided the loading of the Columbia. Due to her modest 10′ beam no pilot cars were required and routing is much less troublesome.

Bring on Truck II Aka: EVE

I have been waiting too long for this day, the unveiling of truck II. Eve is a custom built, state of the art, 2017 Peterbilt 579 outfitted with a 9 foot sleeper. She is very capable and will keep a close eye on every boat she transports. Enough said….

I find specifications for all the sailboat transports I provide at sailboatdata.com. See Specs for the Columbia 34 MKII specifically Here.

Northeast Maryland

I found Bay Boat Works situated on the Northeast River as an extremely well-protected anchorage. They are very easy to deal with. I found plenty of room to park overnight as I often choose to stay at marinas over truck stops. There is ample room for menuvering into position for loading and the staff was very eager to help out in any way they could. I would reccommend this yard for all boat transport.

Tacoma, Washington

Hylebos Marina in the South Puget Sound region of Washington State is a fairly small yard that easily accommodates larger vessels due to its good design. The staff are very helpful and communicative which makes the job go that much smoother. There obvious knowledge makes them an easy choice if you require a yard in this area.
