Silverton Boat Hauling

“Better Days II” Silverton Boat Hauling.  In all the years I’ve been in the boat hauling business I must say I’ve been very fortunate. For the most part I have great clients and deal with the best yards and builders throughout the United States and Canada. I feel as though I take the utmost care with my clients property as well as every precaution in order to provide the safest transport possible. We often use pilot cars when not required, sometimes in order to provide that extra level of safety. When I feel it necessary to ensure everything goes smoothly, I take the extra time. Unfortunately you do have your bad days along with your good and everything cannot always go to plan.

So Much Out Of Our Control

Everything that could have gone wrong on a transport did. We ran into unexpected obstacles on route to the ferry on Long Island that caused us to miss it. We then made it across to New London on a later one just in time for our weekend curfew. After sitting in a parking lot for the weekend because I refuse to leave a boat unattended we finally got back on the road. We were then forced to wait for a permit for Pennsylvania after a short ride across Connecticut and New York. You would think 8 days is ample time to receive a permit from them seeing that it usually only takes 2 but not this time. Luckily that was only 4 hours or so of sitting before the permit finally came through. Next, on a construction reroute, I impacted the windscreen and stainless rail on the fly bridge with a heavy branch inconspicuously hidden in the leaves. We weren’t overly tall at 14′ and had taken this reroute several times without issue. Luckily the damage was relatively minimal and repairs are estimate to be around $2000.00 or so which I will take care of without question or hesitation. Next was Virginia, Georgia, and Florida all deciding on the same trip to do Level 3 inspections on me. I believe it is due to the new truck and they know that it will be an easy write up for them.

In the end “Better Days II” was delivered to Palmetto, unloaded, reassembled, and brought to the customers slip. Repairs began immediately and by the time of this posts should be like it never happened.

Silverton 330 Sport Bridge

Specifications of the Silverton 330 Sport Bridge are a little difficult to find. Yachtworld.com is a decent resource with more specific information Here.

Pilot Cars

Pilot cars were provided by Sean at Coastal Light Pilot Cars. Sean’s dedication and eagerness to go out of his way to please is always apparent.

Seaford, New York

As always, Treasure Island Marina in Seaford, New York was a pleasure to visit. We loaded immediately in order to prepare to leave first thing in the morning. As always, Crabby Amy’s food was excellent. I could not be happier with a marina. Everyone is very helpful and courteous.

Palmetto, Florida

I’ve visited Cuts Edge Harbor Marina at least 6 times now over the past several years. Although it has been at least a couple years since my last visit. The service wasn’t what I would consider bad but there is definitely something different. Not in a good way. Not sure what’s going on down there but I hope I just caught them on a bad day.
